Q2-LeW

Growth and exploration are two inseparable concepts; as there cannot be one without the existence of the other.

This 4 song composition was born in the waning days of June 2021. FOMITES as a project was already in full-swing and the boundaries of finite blocks of time (and space) necessary to create had cemented themselves for the coming months. I set up a makeshift studio in the corner of my living room and got to work. My goal, a cohesive EP, composed and performed entirely 'out of the box' using my completed modular system with no overdubs.

Over a stretch of four days, patches and moods melted into each other with more than 20 distinct ideas and performances being recorded. Over the last few months, I've distilled the products of these sessions down to the four tracks I now present to you.

'Q2-LeW' is easily my most typically 'electronic' release with FOMITES so far (beats, folks, so many beats); and it takes a small, focused and composed, detour around the somewhat self-indulgent (and sometimes flailing) stylings of the 'Fern Seher Tapes' series.

As a small meditation and bonus for supporters, I've included a .pdf of the first chapter of a comic series I'm working on with the same name.
